The Scenario
- I am always running at full capacity.
- I have started having to turn down work due to overload.
- I have a wedding coming up in August.
- Big potential in a partnership deal with a social media software company I already work with.
- There are not enough hours in the day.
About You
Firstly and most importantly, you have to love working on the computer and in social media. If you don’t have that fire and passion, then you won’t give your best and I’m not interested in working alongside you.
Your location is important. Right now, I work from my home office on Dartford, Kent (DA1) and I would like to meet prior to deciding to take you on, plus have regular face-to-face meetings to catch up on progress and client performance (usually at weekends). Initially, the actual work can be done remotely from wherever you wish. You will need your own computer/internet/phone.
You will have experience working direct with clients, perhaps in a freelance role as a social media related consultant/professional, or within a agency or business with client-side exposure.
You will have strong knowledge and expertise in all major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, WordPress, Tumblr, Instagram, Flickr). It will be desirable if you have knowledge and experience using any social account management software, such as Hootsuite, TweetDeck, SproutSocial or others.
Particular skills I am looking for include:
- Content writing
- (Social) Data analysis and evaluation
- Research
- Socially aware (of features, functionality, etiquette, trends etc)
- Balance between people-person (community management etc) and data-driven (using measurements to refine activities etc).
- General marketing acumen
About The Work
I require account managers to handle client accounts and be responsible for the whole management and execution of social media management/marketing campaigns.
You will use the software provided to manage these accounts. I will personally train you on everything you will need to know and do.
You will start managing one account for the first month. If I am happy with the progress and how everything goes, I can quickly extend your responsibility and workload to up to 4 client accounts. Each account should take around 10-15+ hours per week to manage and become quicker the more familiar you become with the software, processes and clients.
Upon each account is a service to provide 1 hour response time email support to clients within UK business hours, so you will need to give full coverage throughout the working week.
The client accounts you will be responsible for will typically be all on a long-term basis.
If you’re looking for regular, consistent and reliable work in a social media position where you can largely work from home, then this is for you.
About Your Benefits
Let’s start with what you really want to know - payment terms.
Depending on your level of experience and expertise, I can pay up to £750 p/m per client.
If you meet my standards, then I could offer you up to 4 client accounts to handle per month. This would bring your monthly earnings up to £3,000 p/m.
You may have other commitments and only want to manage 1, 2 or 3 client accounts at any one time, which would be fine with me.
I am a sole trader and I don’t want the hassles of creating another Ltd right now, so this position is open only to freelancers or those who wish to operate under such terms. You would invoice me on the first day of the month and I have 7 days to complete payment. As such, you will be responsible for your own tax duties.
You will be contracted on an adhoc, month-to-month ongoing basis. Keep in mind that clients will typically use the management service for a long-term period. If I’m happy and you maintain a high standard of work, it’s unlikely that anything would change very often.
A contract will be sent upon acceptance to formalise terms.
